Topic and media choice approval paper due: ___________________

Final project due: ________________

Project 2
Time: Entire month (30 days). Project "check-ins" throughout the book.

Topic: "Identifying Problems and Finding Solutions within the Muslim Community."

Media or Medium: (Choose from one of the following)

  • Written: write a poem, a story, or a play

  • Art: create a piece of artwork, a photo essay, or a poster.

  • Mixed Media:
    • write and record on video tape or DVD, a documentary or presentation or

    • write and record on cassette tape or DVD, a radio play or PSA (Public Service Announcement) commerical

Your topic can be as simple as picking up trash around the masjid, or Muslims buying lottery tickets. It could be harder like dealing with poverty, homelessness or violence. Your choice.

The easy part is indentifying a problem. The harder part is coming up with a solution. Your project must include a workable and viable solution to the problem you've indentified.

Your teacher or parent will tell you if you are allowed to work alone or in groups, or both. Some projects lend themselves more to one than the other.

On a separate piece of paper brainstorm ideas for of the problem you choose and which medium you will employ to bring that problem to light.

Create a colored paper divider at the end of this workbook and place your "brainstorm" sheet there. All other rough drafts, and teacher check-ins, etc. will go there.

At the top right hand side of this page write the date when you need to have a paper telling your teacher or parent what topic you've decided upon and what media will use.
